Chris Eyre and Scott Garen, the team behind the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian's signature film A THOUSAND ROADS are the principles of Seven Arrows Signature – a full service production company specializing in the development and production of films for Native Communities.  Eyre and Garen are applying their considerable production and storytelling experience to creating a variety of films. The duo expects to direct projects as well as oversee the process as executive producers, teaming up with Native producers, directors, writers, and cinematographers.

Chris Eyre

Chris Eyre made his feature film directorial debut with the 1998 Miramax release of Smoke Signals, a dramedy starring Gary Farmer, Irene Bedard, Adam Beach, and Cody Lightning. In 2002 he produced and directed the critically acclaimed Skinwalkers, An American Mystery Special, for PBS, adapted from the best-selling Tony Hillerman novel of the same name, with Robert Redford as executive producer. The film stars Wes Studi, Adam Beach, Sheila Tousey, and Michael Greyeyes. That same year, Eyre's critically acclaimed crime-drama Skins appeared in theaters featuring Graham Greene, Eric Schweig, and Noah Watts. A Native American of Southern Cheyenne-Arapaho descent, Chris Eyre wrote and directed his first film, Tenacity, while attending the New York University Graduate Film School. His other films include Bringing It All Back Home, A Thief Of Time, and Edge of America, which was the opening night selection at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival.


Scott Garen

Scott Garen has over twenty years of highly diversified production experience as a producer, writer, director and executive producer of film and television projects for major studios and network television.   Garen’s documentary projects include: Between the Wars for CBS; numerous documentaries and reality programs for HBO, PBS and syndicated television; 75 documentaries for Channel One and MTV, including award-winning  documentaries with Jean-Michel Cousteau. Garen produced and directed dozens of prime-time entertainment specials and dramatic programs for NBC, CBS and ABC with the Walt Disney Company, Columbia Studios, Dick Clark, Johnny Carson and Steve Wynn.  Garen’s many music video productions, include a Grammy nomination for best music video.  Other awards include:  four New York Festival Awards, five Telly Awards, three Chicago International Television Awards, Cine Golden Eagles, Emmy Nominations, a Du Pont Peabody Nomination and two International Documentary Association Awards.
